Greek Life

About

Greek Life oversees the Greek organizations on the Georgia State University Atlanta campus. The Greek organizations are aware that their members are students first and emphasize academics from the beginning with new members’ education through to graduation. Academics are supported by having grade point average requirements for memberships to remain active. This encourages fraternity and sorority members to maintain good grades while engaging in campus activities. In fact, fraternity and sorority members strive to maintain grade point averages above the university’s undergraduate grade point average every semester which is evident in the statistics.

Inter/national organizations, chapters and councils support this effort by providing scholastic assistance, such as tutoring, study sessions and incentive programs including scholarships and awards for academic success and academic improvement. National trends have shown that members of the Greek community tend to stay in college and are more likely to obtain a degree than non-Greek students.
